Why Blockwise
When the way forward isn’t obvious.
Blockwise works where development, design, and policy meet. We do our best work when feasibility is unresolved, approvals are uncertain, or a constrained site needs creative problem-solving, connecting site, code, cost, and community goals early so owners and public partners can commit with confidence.
Our focus: urban infill, redevelopment, and adaptive reuse.
Services
One partner for the space between vision and execution.
Development and design services work together or on their own, so you bring in exactly the expertise the project needs.
01 — Guides the project
Development Services
Discovery, feasibility, approvals, budget and schedule, and owner’s representation, so the project is defined and validated before it is invested in.
02 — Designs the project
Design Services
Site test fits, concept design, architecture, permitting, and construction administration, as your architect or an extension of your design team.
03 — For public partners
Community Development
Policy and development services for priority sites, corridors, and districts, from code and process review to housing and infill strategy, helping cities and community partners turn plans into actionable projects.
Approach
Development is complex. We help you see through the fog.
Goals, sites, feasibility, zoning, budgets, and people all have to line up. Without early alignment, the fog settles in: risk, delay, and redesign. Our approach brings the right expertise together at the right time.
01
Clarifying opportunities
Clarify the opportunity and the key questions.
02
Coordinating decisions
Keep every discipline aligned.
03
Filling gaps
Add expertise and capacity where needed.
Define the concept, validate it, then invest in it.
Experience on both sides of the table. Our work spans feasibility, entitlements, design, and construction for commercial, mixed-use, housing, and adaptive-reuse projects, and includes advising cities on planning and zoning. That perspective helps us anticipate the questions owners and agencies will ask before they come up.
